About Juniata County
Juniata County was established on March 2, 1831, from part of Mifflin County, and named for the Juniata River that runs through it. Mifflintown has served as the county seat ever since. The county sits in the heart of Pennsylvania's Ridge-and-Valley Appalachians, made up of small boroughs and rural townships connected by the river and Route 322.
